Loggerhead’s Logtoberfest Raises Money for Pet Helpers
On Saturday, October 19th Loggerheads Beach Grill hosted its Third Annual Logtoberfest. Jamisun, The Dunderchiefs, The Dubplates, and Weigh Station jammed while Loggerheads kicked off its oyster roasting season by raising money for Pet Helpers. The oyster roast raised a little over $1,000 for Pet Helpers, says Ed Iames, owner of Loggerheads.
Pets were on site for adoption while guests enjoyed bivalves, music, and ocean views. Were all pet lovers and we appreciate what Pet Helpers does–and they dont put dogs down which is unbelievable, Iames says. Pet Helpers is a no kill animal shelter and low cost spay and neuter clinic that depends on donations from people in the community, according to pethelpers.org. Raising money to help animals means a lot to the Iames family.
After tourist season winds down and the days begin to get shorter, cooler temperatures welcome a Lowcountry favorite, oyster season. The Logtoberfest celebration is a great way for people to enjoy the beginning of oyster season and a great way to raise money for good causes, according to Iames. Weve committed to doing Logtoberfest for Pet Helpers next year, he says. For more info about upcoming Loggerheads events, go to loggerheadsbg.com.
