Loggerhead’s Logtoberfest Raises Money for Pet Helpers

On Saturday, October 19th Loggerhead’s Beach Grill hosted its Third Annual Logtoberfest. Jamisun, The Dunderchiefs, The Dubplates, and Weigh Station jammed while Loggerhead’s kicked off it’s oyster roasting season by raising money for Pet Helpers.  “The oyster roast raised a little over $1,000 for Pet Helpers,” says Ed Iames, owner of Loggerhead’s.

Pets were on site for adoption while guests enjoyed bivalves, music, and ocean views.  “We’re all pet lovers and we appreciate what Pet Helpers does–and they don’t put dogs down which is unbelievable,” Iames says.  Pet Helpers is a no kill animal shelter and low cost spay and neuter clinic that depends on donations from people in the community, according to pethelpers.org.  Raising money to help animals means a lot to the Iames family.

After tourist season winds down and the days begin to get shorter, cooler temperatures welcome a Lowcountry favorite, oyster season. The Logtoberfest celebration is a great way for people to enjoy the beginning of oyster season and a great way to raise money for good causes, according to Iames.  “We’ve committed to doing Logtoberfest for Pet Helpers next year,” he says.  For more info about upcoming Loggerhead’s events, go to loggerheadsbg.com.
