Folly’s Weekend Weather

With the weather like Folly’s seen, you wouldn’t know it’s December. Sunshine and temperatures in the 70s has made for some amazing beach days, even if the water is somewhat cool. Add in a few light showers to the warmth, and you might think it’s May.

On Friday, Folly will likely see 70-degrees, but with a 60-percent chance of rain likely, the beach might not be the place to be. And the showers will continue into the night with an overnight low of 57 degrees.

The rain on Friday will give way to sunshine for Saturday. And the forecast the Annual Folly Beach Christmas Parade, which rolls down Center Street Saturday afternoon is close to perfect. The high will be 73, with clouds in the morning that clear away in the afternoon. The temperature will drop into the mid 50s overnight, so take a jacket if you’re planning a night out after all the holiday cheer.

Sunday will be beautiful. Zero percent chance of rain and temperatures in the mid 70s make for ideal conditions for long walks, fishing from the pier, or shelling near lighthouse inlet. Winds will be light at 5 miles per hour.

Early next week, though, the clouds will roll in and the sun will disappear. This also means the temperatures will likely drop from the low 70s on Monday into high 50s on Wednesday.

We can all agree that any time is a good time to be on Folly, but be sure enjoy this spring-like weather while it lasts.
