- Flip Flop Drop on Center Street
No matter what you decide to do on New Year’s Eve on Folly Beach, you can’t miss the Flip Flop Drop. This is the Folly Beach version of the Ball Drop in New York City, except instead of a shiny ball, Folly drops a glimmering flop flop. Take a break from whatever you’ve got going on at midnight and head down to Center Street to witness the famous Flip Flop Drop.
- Meatball Drop at Woody’s Pizza
Every year on New Year’s Eve, Woody’s Pizza on Center Street bakes a giant meatball to drop from the top of their building at midnight, complete with sparklers and plenty of festivities. Yes, we’re talking about an actual meatball. This thing is bigger than your head, and every year they try to make it even bigger. Some New Year’s Eve hooligans have even been known to take bites out of the Woody’s Meatball.
- New Year’s Eve Beachfront Bash at BLU
For a New Year’s Eve party with a view of the ocean, head over to the Tides Hotel and BLU for their Beachfront Bash. Tickets are $60 and include party favors, a delicious buffet, DJ Matteo spinning downstairs, and Mike and the Mixers playing upstairs. There will also be a massive fireworks display at midnight, along with a complimentary champagne toast. This is your high-class option for a Folly Beach New Year’s Eve.
- New Year’s Eve at Loggerhead’s: A Night in the Caribbean
Loggerhead’s Beach Grill is hosting their annual New Year’s party featuring live music from Sounds of Sand and island-themed dinner specials. A complimentary midnight champagne toast and party favors will be provided for all who choose to stop by this Folly Beach hotspot on New Year’s Eve. If a dive bar New Year’s Eve sounds like your kind of thing, then Planet Follywood is your kind of spot. DJ E will be spinning all night long, throwing in some karaoke to spice things up. Planet Follywood is also prime real estate for watching the Flip Flop Drop and Meatball Drop on Center Street. The music will stop around midnight to allow for everyone to partake in the festivities on Center Street, then kick back up right after until closing time.
