Folly Beach Farmers’ Market Returns!

The Folly Beach Farmers Market is back at a new location on Wednesdays from 6-9pm, and it’s bringing a lot of extra variety to patrons! The Folly River Park is located just across from where they previously set up at the Grill and Island Bar on Center Street.  Head out to see new vendors, food trucks and enjoy a movie at the Tides Hotel after indulging in some of the finest goods found on Folly Beach!. Movies start at 8:45. The open market offers a wide variety of local goods, from locally grown vegetables to handcrafted pastas.

Masseuses from Malama Massages often comes out to give short hand and back massages to visitors of the market. Chairs are conveniently set up underneath a tent to avoid the high temperatures, and people settle in throughout the early evening to sample various relaxing massage methods. Joseph Fields and MC Canon Farms offer large assortments of locally grown vegetables, including tomatoes, okra, squash and peppers, straight from Johns Island.

Souvenirs for locals and tourists alike are scattered through the park. Artists like Megan Day and Chase Barker Creative set up intricate collections of prints, handmade jewelry, decorated shells, and painted woodblocks. Delicious homemade sweet treats will tease at tasty vendor stands like Mudd Pie Girl Bakery. Cookies, brownie bites, snickerdoodles and more were line up like soldiers ready to go to gastronomical war. It is hard to pass by these booths without making a pit stop. You’ll also find goodies from Bootleg Jerky, lovingly crafted without nitrates, gluten and preservative free. These tasty morsels are an absolute delight and great for those on a carb-free diet.

Finally, live music is offered at every market event. New food trucks are being invited to the new location to provide more options for your tastebuds.  This is the perfect family oriented event for you to consider as you wander through Folly Beach. Don’t forget to stop by the awesome shops dotting Center Street as you make your way to the Tides for the movie afterward! There are lots of summer specials happening all through town, and many stores will offer a sidewalk sale during the Farmers Market.
