The 26th Annual Sea and Sand Festival

Hit the streets this weekend for the Sea and Sand Festival, the longest running festival on Folly Beach! This family friendly event is celebrating its 26th year with fun activities for the kids, live music, art vendors, food and drink specials from participating restaurants, and other entertainment at one of the biggest street parties of the year.

Festivities kick off on Friday with the 3rd Annual Miss Sea & Sand Pageant at the Folly River Park at 7pm. The festival will be held the next day starting at 8:30 with the 6th Annual Coffin Island 5k Race at the Folly Beach Pier (remember to come dressed as a pirate!). The street party will stretch four blocks from Huron Street to Ashley Avenue on Center Street.

Thousands of people arrive every year on the streets on the Edge of America to listen to two stages of live music featuring James Justin & Co., Sunflowers & Sin, Shakin’ Martinis, Don’t Mess with the Tiger, Island Trio, and Folly Bluegrass Society. In addition to music, you will have the opportunity to hop on a mechanical bull for the ride of your life, and taste samples from participating restaurants. Over 100 vendors will be lined up on Center Street to offer handmade goods ranging from cookies to art/photography to hand crafted jewelry. There will be a silent auction, a sand castle contest, a photo booth and a book signing to be enjoyed by all.

There will be a kid’s activity zone set up where you can bring your young ones to enjoy a four-station bungee jump trampoline, carnival games, face painting, and more! This family friendly event truly is for everyone, even your dog! Come out and be a part of one of Folly’s favorite events, and make memories to last a lifetime!
