This 5 bedroom/4 bath beachfront home is a little older, but beautiful, large and well maintained with a lot of amenities. The home is decorated with color and common sense without the pushy, beach decorations you find in many coastal vacation rentals. Hardwood floors run throughout the common area which is largely made up of the living room, dining room and kitchen. All three share one large room with plenty of space left over. The wall facing the ocean is covered in tall windows and doors which allow viewing of the intoxicating beach scene from the comfort of one of the three couches. However, a very spacious, wrap-around deck sits just on the other side of those doors with an army of rocking chairs at your disposal. Above that is another large deck which rests even with the roof providing a bird’s eye view of the east side of Folly Beach as well as the Atlantic Ocean. A private dune walkover ensures you are only a few easy steps from putting your feet in the sand.
The bedrooms are carpeted, two of which have immediate access to a lounge/bar area that houses a miniature refrigerator. The lounge also connects the ocean deck to a separate side deck which has an ocean and marsh view. One of the other bedrooms has private access to that side deck as well as its own bathroom. The master bedroom is a study in classic coastal luxury. It is the only bedroom with hardwood floors as well as the only bedroom on the beach side of the house. As such, it is heralded with the same wondrous ocean view as the living/dining room. The master bathroom has a fully tiled and roomy stand-up shower while a large Jacuzzi tub is the cherry on top. “Seascape Wonder” is far away from the downtown bustle of Center Street. While it will require a drive, or at least a bike ride, to get there, the distance provides a comforting solitude as well as the ability to listen to ocean without interruption. Here, it is easy to understand the local mantra, “Slow down, it’s Folly”.
