Folly Beach Christmas Parade

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

DSC02613A holiday tradition, the Folly Beach Christmas Parade, returned to the streets last weekend. The parade included Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elves as well as marching groups, living history re-enactors and festival queens.

The Folly Beach Christmas parade began at 1 p.m. Saturday starting at the entrance to Little Oak Island and ending on Arctic Avenue.  Attendants and attendee started lining up by 11:00 in anticipation of the days festivities.  The route begin on the Folly River bridge and moved across to the business district.  A short distance of less than a mile, it’s funny how it take us longer to line up than the whole parade takes.  This years marks the biggest success yet…wonder what will happen next year?

Where you able to celebrate with us? Even if you weren’t, chances are you have memories from years past. If you were here I would love to hear stories and see pictures. Post here, and as always, email hollie@follybeach.com your pictures to be posted on the site.
