She spent the previous 30 years as an entrepreneur in retail & catalog advertising & marketing and Internet businesses in various cities including New York, Chicago, Cleveland and London. She is also a published writer and an avid researcher. 

After a sudden and debilitating illness in 2001, she faced the heartbreaking truth that her career - as she knew it - was over. Jeannie decided to start all over and "retire" to Folly Beach where she could live a slower, friendlier life style and be close to her family.

Jeannie fell in love with Folly Beach.  After spending a year learning most of the ""nooks and crannies" of Folly, she decided to use her talents in writing, research and web design to build a site dedicated just to Folly Beach for the benefit of visitors and locals. FollyBeach.Com launched on Independence Day 2004.

Jeannie's future plans include adding a Folly Beach Catalog to the Site featuring local products such as art, crafts, clothing and souvenirs.  Because she doesn't charge anyone to be on her Site (she doesn't want anyone left out just because they can't pay), her hope is the catalog profits will help keep FollyBeach.Com alive, fresh and flourishing. That said however, she is open to donations and an occasional free drink.....after all, this is Folly Beach.
