Jeannie Miller moved to Folly Beach in 2002, sometime between Hurricane Lili and Tropical Storm Kyle.
She spent the previous 30 years as an entrepreneur in retail & catalog advertising & marketing and Internet businesses in various cities including New York, Chicago, Cleveland and London. She is also a published writer and an avid researcher.
After a sudden and debilitating illness in 2001, she faced the heartbreaking truth that her career - as she knew it - was over. Jeannie decided to start all over and "retire" to Folly Beach where she could live a slower, friendlier life style and be close to her family.
Jeannie fell in love with Folly Beach. After spending a year learning most of the "nooks and crannies" of Folly, she decided to use her talents in writing, research and web design to build a site dedicated just to Folly Beach for the benefit of visitors and locals. FollyBeach.com launched on Independence Day 2004.
Sadly, Jeannie was unable to see the full potential of FollyBeach.com with her untimely passing. A fan of Folly picked up where she left off. Jeannie's future plans included adding a Folly Beach Catalog to the Site featuring local products such as art, crafts, clothing and souvenirs, which has been added here.
